We could use all of the time we have to discuss the Vatican Museums just listing the vast number of galleries and museums that make up this big collection of art showcases. And if we tried to list the number of artists and great works of art you can find in the Vatican Museums, it would fill a book! In fact, there are such books in the Vatican library that catalog every work this important collection owns and when and where they are on display.
It was 1506 when Pope Julius II started the museum with a humble acquisition of the sculpture of Laocoon and his sons, as they fight off the grips of an aggressive sea serpent. From that simple start, the Vatican Museums now consists of literally dozens of galleries that can boast holdings of outstanding artwork in the thousands.

The Western Isles are a group of islands which are found out in the Atlantic ocean off the west coast of Scotland. Rather strangely the Western Isles are also widely known as the Outer Hebrides. There are over 200 islands in the group but only a handful are populated with many becoming deserted in the last century. The main island is the Isle of Lewis to the north where you will find the regions main town and administrative center, Stornoway.
At one time Stornoway was one of the busiest fishing ports in Europe but the fishing industry fell into sharp decline after the First World War. The fishing industry had brought the town to life and a small, but highly active, fishing fleet still works from Stornoway. With the fishing boats adding a great deal of interest to an otherwise ordinary highland town Stornoway is considered one of the best places to stay in the Western Isles. Below is an introduction to some of the bed and breakfast accommodation available in the town of Stornoway.

Maybe you are a Civil War buff wanting to visit the sites where countless American soldiers fought and died, or perhaps you just love being immersed in American history wherever you stay. A visit to these bed and breakfasts will encourage your sense of patriotism and you’ll experience history as close to the source as possible.
The Carlisle House, a restored bed and breakfast that dates to the 1820s, is surrounded by the past located in the town historic district in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Many of the local buildings, including this Pennsylvania bed and breakfast were built in the Civil War and even Revoulutionary War eras. Guests can plan a day trip to Gettysburg National Park or explore Amish Country in Lancaster County. The guest rooms at Carlisle House have been decorated in period style with antiques. Innkeeper Mary Fuller Duxbury, a former army nurse, prepares the sumptous breakfasts, which often include one of her signature quiches.

When Rome dominated the world, one of the most popular places for Romans to go for entertainment was the Flavian Amphitheater. This huge elliptical stadium could hold crowds of up to 50,000 citizens in the six acres it covered. But it went by another name of Il Colosseo or as we call it, The Colosseum.
From the first century and for centuries after that, the Colosseum was the center of cultural life for Rome, where people came to see brutal games that pitted gladiators against each other or slaves against wild animals with predictable results. As you tour the stadium, very little remains to remind us of those spectacles except for the vaults and tunnels under the Colosseum that were used to store the animals, and for the gladiators and fighters to enter the facility for their part in the show.

A deeply dark and wonderful place, the Black Forest in Germany is what great tales are made of. Aptly named for the dense forest that surrounds the area, those that travel to the Black Forest will hardly forget the many things that they heard and saw there.
The Black Forest area is like a step back in time. From little logging towns to think, heavy food, the region is all about authenticity and a different way of life. Of course, such a beautiful place is on the tourist track as well.
The Black Forest has a long history of logging as you might expect with a forest. Logging is no longer allowed on a big scale, so a new niche has come up. The Black Forest is now known for carved wood cuckoo clocks.

It is often when we are out to enjoy ourselves on vacation that we are more likely to experience events which can affect how much we enjoy the break. Often these problems can leave a bitter taste in the mouth and leave you with a dislike of the destination, its people and cost a great deal of money.
Or worse still, a situation that sees you locking yourself in your hotel room, afraid to go out, or even spending time at the local Police station. Common sense is still the single most important tool for traveling safely when you’re in a foreign land, meeting new people, walking down strange roads, eating and drinking new things.

The Beauty of Bare Boat Charters Virgin Islands
The beauty and freedom bare boat charters Virgin Islands is unparalleled. The water is crystal clear with gentle tropical winds and sunshine. Choosing the right charter is key to an enjoyable vacation.
Most reputable charter companies typically require evidence that the skipper has previous charter experience or is a boat owner of a similar size yacht. Operating a yacht generally needs at least a skipper and one competent crew member.
A bare boat charter yacht handover (yacht orientation) will usually take about an hour. You should be as familiar with the vessel as possible before leaving the dock. The skipper and at least one other member of the crew will be shown the location and how to use and do minor repairs of the yacht’s basic equipment.
