June 24th, 2009 · No Comments

by Brad Alexzander

A popular tradition among high school and college students alike is heading somewhere warm and sunny for the week known as Spring Break. Regrettably, most people?s current financial state with this economy eliminates a few of the more expensive destinations.

However, I still have five amazing beaches that college students can make reservations for now and look forward to several days of sun and sand without breaking the bank.

* Perhaps the most well-known of all destinations is Ft. Lauderdale. Florida has changed over the years, but Ft. Lauderdale is still the place which college students can afford traveling to during Spring Break.

* Acapulco has become as popular as ever with college students. Now there are more Spring Break packages to Acapulco than ever before.

Fiery Arenal Volcano Of Costa Rica

June 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

by Frank Scott

It is eight in the morning and the van is packed with all our luggage and camera gear. We are off to our first destination, soon to become an adventure. Being the first day, the group is just getting to know one another and the level of excitement is high with everyone talking about cameras and pictures.

We are on our way to Arenal, an active volcano in Costa Rica, but there are a few stops along the way. First, we stop in Sarchi, famous for its tropical furniture, where magnificent, brightly decorated ox carts are made in an eighty plus year old water powered factory. From there, we drive to the little mountain town of Zarcero where the focal point is the old wooden church with its much-photographed double row of topiaries leading to its entrance. You can fill your camera’s memory card just at these two places with the colours and patterns in Sarchi and the fantastic shapes of the topiaries in Zarcero.

A Worthwhile Romantic Getaway for Lovers On The Mississippi

June 22nd, 2009 · No Comments

by Anthony Herbert

There is a strong relationship between romance and cruising. One cannot overrule the pleasure achievable from riding with a lover in a boat that slowly moves in a quiet water not minding its type whether sea, river, lake or ocean while on a romantic getaway on the Mississippi.

With the foreknowledge that romance is quite closely knitted to cruising, the fun to be derived from cruising with a loved one on a boat moving gently on calm and peaceful water whether from the sea, river, lake or ocean while on a romantic getaway on the Mississippi cannot be overemphasized.

The Mississippi has abundant water resources and serene climate which has given both residents and tourists lasting recreational opportunities that include swimming, boat riding and fishing among others, hence a romantic getaway on the Mississippi river simply reminds anyone of the time when life moved pretty much slower with nice features as the best choice because of the gracious movement style of the ships, the tranquillity of the waters and the carefully packaged romantic environment around fun lovers.

Explore The Midwest With Mississippi River Boat Cruises

June 21st, 2009 · No Comments

by Anthony Herbert

Sightseeing, dinner, private charter and entertainment are few of the pleasures derived by passengers from being on Mississippi river boat cruises whose operations start from after New Year’s Day and would not close until the last few weeks of the year.

You will experience local history from the era of the Native Americans, the river boatmen and some popular explorers like Mark Twain. Also very explicit narrations about the civil war hostilities and the history of the delta are all told to boarders on river boat cruises.

Apart from offering lovers of nature surprises at the sights featured along the majestic waterways the Mississippi river boat cruises present special chances for budget cruise and the exploration of the history, people, culture and styles of the heartland of America, and a tale of the history of the four bridges that cross the river at Memphis. Few of the many states that offer river boat cruises are Iowa, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, Texas and of course Mississippi.

Fiery Arenal Volcano: A Costa Rica Photography Delight

June 21st, 2009 · No Comments

by Frank Scott

With luggage and camera gear packed in the van by 8 in the morning my new friends and I on my photography tour are off to our first destination, promising to be an outstanding adventure. The excitement is high with everyone getting to know each other and talking cameras and pictures on this their first day.

Arenal, an active Costa Rica volcano, is our destination but first there are a couple of photography stops along the way. We go first to the little Tico community of Sarchi where brightly colored, decorated oxen carts are made in an old water powered factory. The second stop is nearby Zarcero, which has, as its focal point, an old wooden church and a double row of lovely topiaries leading up to it. Many memory cards are filled just photographing these two places with the magnificent colours and patterns of Sarchi and the incredible shapes of the topiaries in Zarcero.

A Guide to Costa Rica Attractions

June 20th, 2009 · No Comments

by Victor C. Krumm

Costa Rica is a small Central American country bordering the countries of Nicaragua and Panama. It is often considered to be a tropical paradise. In 1502, Christopher Columbus landed along its Caribbean coast and was so mesmerized he named the place ‘Costa Rica’, the ‘Rich Coast’. The name stuck.

In a region often known for its instability, Costa Rica stands alone. Though tumultuous Nicaragua is to the north and Panama is to its south, it constitutionally abolished its military nearly 70 years ago. Today, along with Switzerland, it is one of only two countries with no army. The country is particularly famous for its wide biodiversity. There is an abundance of beautiful rain forests, cloudforests, rugged mountains and, of course, its amazing beaches, all close at hand.
