A Children Story from Honolulu

The island of Hawaii is an archipelago surrounded by a body of water. Lots of tourists from all over the world flock Hawaii especially during summer season to bask in the sun and marvel at the natural wonders of Hawaii. Hawaii is definitely the best place to stay if a tropical climate, a gorgeous vacation and a splendid summer destination is what you have in mind. Hawaii is a beach junkies paradise, a perfect honeymoon getaway and a dream wedding venue all rolled into one.

Honolulu is Hawaiis capital city situated at the heart of Hawaii. Its Hawaiian name means sheltered bay or bay of shelter. The city of Honolulu receives wide acclaims nowadays since it is the birth place of American President Barack Obama. Honolulu is Hawaiis busiest city as it houses the governmental and financial hub of Hawaii. Waikiki is the famous district of Honolulu as it houses thousands of hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and other Tourist spots.

Waikiki beach is perhaps the most sought after and the most famous beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. It boasts of a magnificent view of an equally famous tourist attraction, Hawaiis The Diamond Head. Waikiki Beach is ideal as a surfers haven although it is reported to have long lolling periods of surf waves making it an ideal place for surfer beginners and surf waders. Waikiki beach is also found to have rocky sea bottoms.

The Honolulu Theatre for youth which comprises of talented young ones is showing an adaptation of the Musubi Man a local Hawaiian childrens tale which is an adaptation of the classic Gingerbread Man. The Musubi Man is the story of how a rice cake shaped boy having a heart made up of umeboshi, eyes of takuan, a nori jacket and red ginger mouth came off running so as not to be eaten by the taro owners wife.

The tale told of the rice cake boy’s adventure as he escapes and as not to be eaten by the one who made him. In this adventure he met a radical surfer who was also in a secret desire to eat him. The story was then concluded with its usual Hawaiian flair.
