Fugitives Drift was established by David Rattray together with his wife Nicky and built an award winning lodge for travellers to enjoy this remarkable tale. Tragically, in January 2007, David was killed by an intruder but Fugitives Drift is a fantastic legacy to something he developed with his wife Nicky and it still remains today. Rob Caskie has taken over as the primary historian. Like David, Rob speaks fluent Zulu, understands the history inside out and is perhaps the best orator I’ve ever heard.
The two battles that I was fascinated with were the battle at Isandlwana where the Zulu army wiped out around 1,300 British troops on 22nd January 1879. Later on that day, a lesser force of Zulus who missed out on the action at Isandlwana, wanted their chance and so against orders, they attacked Rorke’s Drift. The defensive action went down in the history of the British Army as amongst it’s most amazing battles which saw eleven Victoria Crosses awarded. About 140 British troops struggled with close to 4,000 Zulus in a fight that raged all night.

Port Ghalib is only 10 minutes away from Marsa Alam airport and it is a resort with huge ambitions. Found on the Red Sea in Southern Egypt, the master plan is build a world class integrated resort community. It is also well-known to scuba divers who travel here to catch their liveaboards that head out from from Port Ghalib. The unspoilt coral reefs feature some fantastic scuba diving along the coastline with the well-known Elphinestone Reef to the south being a very popular scuba diving destination.

KwaZulu Natal’s Northern Coast, generally known as The Dolphin Coast, extends from Zimbali, an eco and golf estate to the grand Tugela River. Its welcoming waters are the place to find the common bottlenose dolphin which is often seen frolicking in the waves just offshore over summer and winter, whilst the tropical, lush coastline features a large number of secluded bays, golden shores and eye-catching residences.
Sections of natural coastal forest give way to never-ending rolling hills covered with fields of sugar cane, that stretch into the interior. A unique mixture of luxury resorts and affordable holiday accommodation combine with awesome seashores and culturally diverse interesting attractions making this holiday destination a shimmering gem.

A very popular place for going on holiday in Europe is one of the Greek islands. One of those Greek islands that you may never of heard of is Kefalonia. I am not sure why it isn’t as popular as other islands but this gives you an advantage. You can make the most of it before Kefalonia holidays become the too popular.
Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands of Greece. It isn’t very large and has a population of less than 50,000 people. Apart form tourism, the main industries are growing olives and breeding animals.
The island is different from other islands in that it is quieter. Kefalonia holidays are not about partying, they are about relaxing. You have some of the best beaches of all the Greek islands including the award winning Myrtos beach. Many postcards from the other islands have this beach as their main feature even though it is not from there.

From the kimonos of Japan to the kilts of the Scottish Highlands, salwar kameez worn in South Asia and elaborate tribal headdresses of Africa, countrywide clothing is one of the simplest methods to recognize exactly where in the world a individual comes from, long before they open their mouth and reveal their language. Though this may not be very as straightforward in the West, in a lot of nations conventional attire is still quite much alive and creates an crucial component of daily lifestyle. Exactly the same is correct of the stylish robes and headscarves donned by men in the Arabian Gulf.
For the inexperienced eye, the normal outfit used by an Emirati man is deceptively simple. But take a better appear and you will notice a wealth of detail and careful focus to the cut and desiging of his clothing, that help to identify in which in the region the individual is from.

Souk in Arabic means a place where any kind of product can be exchanged or bought. For centuries, dhows (wooden boats) from the Far East, Sri Lanka and India would anchor in Dubai to sell their exotic wares. Today, these souks still exist and represent a vast part of Dubai’s traditional trading culture. The perfect place to spend a day, trawling through the stalls and discovering the art of haggling is the Gold Souk, where you can find some of the world’s cheapest yellow metal. Head down this street and be dazzled as you pass row upon row of gleaming shops selling diamonds and bright gold. Prices vary, depending on weight, but rest assured that whatever you buy will be at a snip, sometimes even as little as quarter of what you might pay back home.

Hawaiian Airline is graded very best domestic airline for the second yr consecutively and American eagle the most detrimental in an annual airline overall performance evaluation of the airline business.
The statement was based on aspects such as promptly arrivals, refused boarding, mishandled luggage and consumer issues. The same review also dropped Delta from the twelfth place to 15th position generally due to flight 1201, which went from Atlanta Georgia to Orlando Florida on the sixteenth of January. The flight is supposed to take about seventy minutes, but it was trapped on tarmac for ten hours straight.
This is three hours longer then it would take to drive between the 2 locations, yet still eight half hours less than the longest nonstop International flights presently on the books. That would be Singapore airlines flight 21 for 18 and a Half hours. This International Flights from Newark, New Jersey to Singapore, which is a staggering 9535 miles.

Once the main capital of Italy in the year 1865, Florence reinvented itself but is obviously a sight to discover in Europe. Flooded by art, amazing architectural buildings at intervals of corner, a lively business center, populated by men and women satisfied with their own heritage, it still is a jewel.

Denmark is most known for being the birthplace of the popular children’s toy, Lego, and master storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. However, Denmark has much more to offer like the following, which are all great reasons to visit Denmark.
1. The Happiest Country in the World
Among its many accolades and awards, Denmark has earned the distinction for being the happiest plcae on earth, and you’ll find this easy to understand once you visit Denmark. In its capital city, Copenhagen, alone, you will find Danes smiling while shopping along Europe’s longest pedestrian streets, having a family picnic in the Tivoli Gardens or simply enjoying a carefree stroll in the gardens of the Amalienborg Palace, particularly during the country’s seemingly endless summer days. Even in winter when the sun rarely shines, recreational activities abound, while there are festivals scattered throughout the year, like the three-day Carnival of Copenhagen, the equally colorful Aalborg Carnival, the Odense International Days of Blues and the Holmsboe Festival in Horsens. Indeed, if you were a Dane, you would be happy, too.
