Hawaiian Scottish Festival

On 1981 the Hawaiian Scottish Association was created this gave the chance for Scottish gathering and games. It is a non-profit organization that provides the Scottish community in Hawaii to participate in the educational and cultural activities.

One of the ways the Hawaiian Scottish Association will celebrate their culture and heritage is by sponsoring the 28th Annual Hawaiian Scottish Festival on April 4, 2009. The 28th Annual Hawaiian Scottish Festival will be held at the Willows 901 Hausten Street from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. There are a lot of activities that you will get to enjoy on like beer sampling, Scotch Tasting, all-you-can-eat Pupus, Scottish Music by the local and national artists, Bagpipers and Scottish Dancers.

You can purchase the ticket in advance for $25.00 for adults and for children under 12 the ticket will cost $15.00. Which you can purchase at the Liquor Collection, Tamuras Kaimuki and the Wine Shop. When you purchase the ticket at the door the cost of the ticket is $30.00.

Games and Competition is one of the activities that you can join or attend. This activity is fashion from the time when there were still kings and chiefs in Scotland. The materials or weapon used in these games are the ordinary daily materials used. From these materials the games like caber toss, stone put, hammer throw, weight lift and weight toss was created.

For men and women the games will start on April 4, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. For the master the games will start on April 5, 2009 9:00 A.M. The housewives will start at 12:00 P.M., while the Kilted miles are after the housewives games. Entrance fee for the men and women is $25.00 when purchased before March 15 but when purchased at the door the ticket is $30.00. For the housewives and Kilted miles the entrance fee is free but would require a waiver.
