As you will soon discover there are lots of different types of Irish holiday homes that one can now rent, and all of which offer you the chance to explore the country without any undue hassle. However, if you have never rented a holiday home before then there are things you need to be aware of. Below we offer a few tips to help you get great accommodation and so ensure that you have a wonderful vacation.

Tip 1 – Most of the holiday homes for rent in Ireland are owned by private individuals and so the standard in which they are maintained can vary greatly from one property to the next. If you are considering renting a holiday home for your next vacation then do so through a reputable agent who requires and insists on high standards of maintenance and care on the properties they have on their books.

Tip 2 – It is important to note that you will need to arrange your vacation around the dates that hire of such properties run from. In most cases, you will find that hire of these homes runs from Saturday to Saturday and do not expect to actually gain access to the property until mid or late afternoon. This is because the owners or the agents will need time to prepare the cottage for your visit.

Tip 3 – Often the price at which you rent such homes is not based on the size or what state the property is in. In most cases, the rental prices are based on where the property is located and at what time of year you are actually renting it. Sometimes you may often find that you get a better deal and higher quality accommodation if you choose to stay in a less popular location.

Tip 4 – If you have found your ideal holiday home and would like to make sure that you get it for the dates you want it is a good idea to book it well in advance. You may find that not only do you get exactly what you want but you could also end up saving some money as well. However, if you do choose this method of getting your ideal holiday home you may be required to pay a small deposit (around 10%) to ensure that the accommodation is held for you.

Tip 5 – Before you book the accommodation, you need to find out exactly what is included within rental price. Most rental prices include all the necessary amenities and facilities one would expect when living at home. But you need to be aware that some may charge extra for bed linen and you may be required to pay for the electricity and heating that you use during your stay. Also, if you are going to be bringing a pet with you then you may find an additional charge is levied on the rental price for this.

Tip 6 – If you would like to save money on your accommodation there are somethings that you can do. You can either choose to go at a time of year when far less people are likely to be visiting the area, say the winter and spring months. The other choice you have because you need to go during high season is book accommodation in an area, which is less popular with tourists.

Above we have provided you with a few tips to help you when it comes to finding the right type of Irish holiday homes for your next vacation to this beautiful part of the world. It is also through the tips provided you may find that you are actually able to save some money as well. But what is most important of all before you make a booking is you spend sometime carrying out some research and comparing what the various part of this island have to offer.
